Extinguishing Media:
Not combustible, use extinguishing media suitable for surrounding fire.
Fire Fighting Instructions:
Fire fighters should wear NIOSH/MSHA approved self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing. Cool containers exposed to fire.
Unusual Fire Hazards:
Under fire conditions, toxic, corrosive gases are emitted.
Applies to All Ingredients:
Potential Health Effects:
Eye Contact:
Hydrochloric acid will have corrosive effect if not immediately washed out. Moderate radiation dose.
Skin Contact:
High beta hazard from Y-90. Corrosive effect from hydrochloric acid. Effects increase with time of exposure, wash off immediately.
Inhalation:
Low acute inhalation toxicity. May cause upper respiratory tract irritation.
Ingestion:
Will result in increased organ radiation dose. Hydrochloric acid will be hazardous (corrosive) if large volumes are ingested.
Flush open eyes continuously for 15 minutes with clean water. Remove from source. Seek medical help for external radiation exposure or if irritation persists.
Wash well with mild soap and warm water to remove contamination (radiation and acid). Do not treat skin with abrasives. Remove contaminated clothing. Remove from source. Seek medical help for external radiation or if irritation persists.
Inhalation:
Leave the contamination area and seek medical aid for Y-90 intake.
Ingestion:
Drink large volumes of water. Do not induce vomiting due to corrosive nature of hydrochloric acid. Remove from source. Seek medical aid for radiation intake.
NOTE: IN ALL CASES, OBTAIN MEDICAL AID PROMPTLY.
Chemical Stability:
STABLE
Conditions to Avoid:
Hazardous Polymerization:
WILL NOT OCCUR

CONDITIONS TO AVOID: None known
Spill Cleanup Measures:
Do not touch spilled material (or sources) or damaged container. Isolate spill area. Do not enter spill area unless it is absolutely necessary to save lives. Limit entry to the shortest possible time. If in transport mode, call CANUTEC at (613) 996-6666 in Canada or National Response Centre at 1-800-424-8802 in USA. If on site follow instructions of site license.
Other Precautions:
None required.
All shippers and consignees must possess radioisotope license and conform with all conditions of license.
Waste Disposal:
If on site, follow instructions on site license or as directed by local Radiation Control Officer. Consult state, local or national regulations for proper disposal.
Ventilation System:
Local exhaust as necessary only if solution has evaporated to a highly concentrated form (ie. Restricted space).
Protective Clothing/Body Protection:
If package is damaged, wear neoprene gloves before handling.
Respiratory Protection:
Respiratory protection is not normally required under normal use.
